I am NOT an anecdote.

Don’t tell me that this is anecdotal! This is not anecdote THIS IS MY LIFE! I am the one suffering I know where I am and what I am going through.

You do not get to relegate MY life and MY pain and suffering down to a punchline. IF YOU DO, that just goes to prove that you are a cold heartless unfeeling jerk (btw you can replace jerk with any really foul cuss-word you wish to pick, it works equally well.)

Obama claimed that this was to help those people who are below the poverty level but who do not qualify for medicare/medicaid or whatever other government health programs are out there.

Guess what THAT IS EXACTLY WHO I AM!

I am EXACTLY the person that Obama’s rhetoric was pointing at. And I can tell you without a doubt that his A.C.A. does exactly NOTHING to help me, NOR anyone else like me! If it WOULD help people like me THEN IT WOULD HELP ME!

IT DOES NOT HELP ME! Therefore it does not help people LIKE me! Therefore it is a failed plan!

Someone was whining about how the Republicans are forcing the Democrats to be responsible to the people (not the way they put it but that is the way I put it!) so I had to respond
They said it wasn't fair that republicans were keeping the Democrats from getting their way I said it wasn’t fair for the Democrats to try to force their opinions and views on the rest of the country.
Remember way back when they, the Democrats, were the majority and controlled congress and the White House and they could force things down our throats at will and we couldn't stop them? Yeah THAT is when they put this plan in place.

Right now I am not a fan of the Republicans, but at least they were fully UN-involved in this thing.

Unfortunately, I believe, this is again, one of those times when people will ignore the message because there is no way to really make it clear how deeply the hurt goes.
I feel like no one is listening like I am a small voice crying out into the void... hmm where have I heard that before? A big part of the problem is, that everyone is talking but no one is trying to really hear or understand where the real problem/s is/are.
A big problem is that the Democrats are doing something I hate. They are being Hypocrites. They tell us “this is the law of the land” so we just have to take it and suck it up. But time after time they ignore the “law of the land” when it does not suit them and they whine about it when they are held to their oaths to uphold said laws.

I have also heard a lot of people going on and on in the media about how all these things the Republicans are doing are “unprecedented” and they are such “sore losers” and they are only playing “partisan politics”. Like this is never done by them…well I just have one thing to say about that, Bull Pucky!

They didn’t like G.W. Bush’s “law”; pertaining to putting up a fence to protect our southern borders, they repealed it. They did ALL the same tricks time after time. And NOW they have the gall to say that REPUBLICANS are like this????

Sorry… had to rant…

But that is a big part of my point. We have laws saying Illegal aliens are to be deported. PERIOD. But they ignore that one. It is only on the ones they “LIKE” that they will make that effort, all the while screaming how unfair it is when the opposite side does the same. Just like they will discount me or my fate because “it is JUST an anecdote” while they will come out with stories that ARE pure anecdote and what do they say then? “Well that is a sign of what it is really like out there. We need to heed this tale!”
No THAT is an anecdote, and what you just did there? Yeah THAT is hypocrisy.

Time to challenge some "conservative" thoughts about welfare.

Recently I read this...

"PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Now, if you have the guts - PASS IT ON...I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET THIS BACK, IF EVERYONE SENDS IT, I WILL GET OVER 220 BACK!!! I WOULD KNOW YOU SENT IT ON!!!"

This was posted by a friend of mine on FaceBook. and I had to respond.

"Sorry a little too simple a solution! What you are saying is they never get to have anything like a Christmas present from a loved one because you do not approve of them having anything nice... The attitude here is they are poor they MUST suffer!

"If you want a plasma t.v. or an X-Box, Get a job"
Really? what if they had that from BEFORE THEY NEEDED HELP? you expect them to get rid of EVERYTHING they own because you do not approve of them having it? how are you any better than the liberals who want to take your hard earned money away to give it to the poor for welfare?

According to this person, the poor cannot have balanced nutrition just "beans, rice and dried milk" and I bet then you will complain that they do not have a healthy diet ("oh and how HORRIBLE it is that they are obese or always in the doctor's office, those lazy sluggards just trying to get out of a day's work") And then you will deny them the chance of EVER having a child even though they are just currently in a TEMPORARY state where they just can't make ends meet?

Now to top it all off we will deny them the ability to try to put people into office who will help them to get OUT of the poverty they are in by voting for someone who will help them get jobs or an education that will lead them to being a productive member of society? Yes I know that that is a rare thing but there ARE people with work ethics out there who simply fall into a bad place and need help out.

SO, Maybe the FIRST thing we ought to do is stop judging them (you do not know why they are in this spot) and encourage them to lift themselves up.
Maybe, I don't know, give them help that will GET THEM OUT OF POVERTY instead of condemning them for something that they may not have any control over, perhaps because no one ever took the time to teach them how to lift themselves up in the first place.
The real problem with today's welfare is that it is DESIGNED to keep the people on it in a continuous state of slavery and servitude, even if/when they want to grow and be more! Try fixing THAT part first."

After all, And this is for both my Liberal and Conservative friends... If you GIVE a man a fish he eats for a day, If you TEACH a man to fish he eats for his whole life. Libs, STOP just giving him fish! Cons, TEACH Him how to fish. maybe then we can stop arguing about this.

Did you really not ask for military?

Recently I was looking at a post about something that happened to one of our veterans. It was a sad story and thinking about the loss that soldier's family had suffered was saddening as well.

What was most troubling to me was that in the comment section someone got on and (trolling?) said, "Well I do not care what happened to that soldier or his family, I never asked him to serve."

I would like to respond as follows.

You say you did not ask for anyone to join the military.

I hate to tell you this but… You did.

Every man and woman who serves or has served does so because of you. It is for your freedom and the freedom of your family and friends that they signed up to serve.
Oh they may not know YOU personally, but the oath they took did not say "except for Mr. Smith because he did not ask for us to be there."
The oath that all of us who served took is for ALL our fellow citizens who need our help.

Think about all the things that our armed forces do.
From rescuing people when they're homes are flooded or in harms way to fighting fires alongside forest service personnel.
From guarding our borders to going to foreign countries far from their loved ones to fight. They do these things because they are in the interests of protecting our country, our livelihood and our homes.

Yours included.

If YOU had joined the military they would not have needed to do so for you.
But the freedoms you enjoy are given to you and kept for you by those people whom you have "not asked."
Just like you did "not ask" for someone to become a police officer or a fire fighter and you do not "ask" for them to come to your house when It is burning or you are in need.

Still,if you will be honest with yourself, you know if they did not come, if they did not stand in the gap you would be complaining that you do not get the protection and service you expect of the government.

So in your silence and in your need, without SAYING so you DO ask for them to do this, Every day.

Maybe you do not like what they are doing because you find it morally offensive, maybe you think we do not need to be wherever they are. But that is not their fault. They do not get to pick and choose where they will fight. If anyone is to blame for where they are sent or how they are used then look to the leaders of the nation who sent them... Or better yet, Look at yourself, because YOU are the one who voted those leaders into office.

So kindly, Please keep that in mind the next time you want to denigrate them or post hateful things.

Gay Scouts.

Recently I have been in several discussions.

In one of those discussions, I relayed my concerns about how it seems the “Homosexual lobby” seems to be trying to impose their will on people while whining that they are being targeted with the same kind of behavior.

Someone told me that I was “succumbing to the scare tactics and rhetoric of the conservative right.” So I took a moment and though about it and do you know what? That person, on MANY levels, was mistaken.

the main one is, I was NOT succumbing to anything. This is NOT just rhetoric. There are many examples all over the place from “Gays” suing businesses for not making them wedding cakes to gays marching protesting and even causing violence against people.
They claim that these businesses are promoting hate or prejudice when the opposite is true, they just have a different idea of what is moral. And thus "they HAVE to be wrong".
These are businesses and organizations that simply disagree with them… (Focus on the Family, Chick-Fil-A etc…)
But I think the most obvious example is The Boy Scouts of America.

Think about it, The BSA came out with a statement that they were thinking about ruling that the individual units could decide whether or not they would allow homosexuals to be in the BSA.

This was even before they limited it to boys so the idea was simply any Homosexual who wanted to be in scouting would be able to join a troop that was open to the idea of allowing gays in.

I heard a spokesperson for the Homosexuals involved in this, state, WITH HIS OWN MOUTH, that “this [allowing units to permit gays in to the units] would not be enough”.
A “HOMOSEXUAL LOBBYIST” said “THIS WOULD NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH”!
What else could the national center for BSA do? What else could homosexuals possibly want?
The only other option, the next step if you will is that the national council would FORCE units to accept gays. If this is not Forcing others to accept behavior against their wishes then what is???

Honestly think about it. The largest participants in BSA is the Mormon church. The Church, as far as I know, still considers Homosexuality (or Sodomy) to be a sinful behavior. You are telling them that they HAVE to accept gays in Even though it is against their religious beliefs.

This is not “fear mongering” and it is not rhetoric or hyperbole. And it is also not anecdotal! This is exactly what I have said it is. This is a bald faced attempt by the Homosexuals to impose their wills on everyone else in spite of what values morals or beliefs those others may have on their own.
This is denying people their basic freedoms to live life as they want to live it by forcing them to accept values that are against their beliefs.

This is what the gays want to claim people like me are doing but I want to take a moment here to state, I think gays ought to live their lives however they want to live. Their choices and the results of those choices are between them, their partner/s and God. I really have no place in there I am willing to "live and let live". But they are not.

If I were fear mongering I would probably be cynically stating that this is an attempt by the homosexuals to remake the BSA into an all Homosexual organization and exclude all heterosexuals. But I am not saying that. I am pointing out that there is no real consistency with their arguments. It is all a bunch of hypocrisy.

I do believe that the choice/s they are making is sinful (wrong). But it is their choice to make, I believe they will have to answer to God for those choices, and it does not matter how many people here on earth follow their views. God’s word and law is the same. It will not change just because some people want it to.

Now I am not trying to force homosexuals to be straight, again that is between them and God. They can live their lives however they want to, BUT I DO NOT want them teaching these values to my children, I do not want them forcing their views on me against my wishes and I do not want them to make the whole world like them.

They claim they value diversity but when you force everyone to be like you there is no diversity. By trying to make me and my kids turn into people like you, you are eliminating that which makes us all different.

So stop trying to change everything and learn to practice what you preach and celebrate that diversity that you claim to be so fond of.

What's guns got to do with it?

There were a few events that happened at the beginning of this year that really made a big impact in my life.

1. Sandy hook elementary school.
2. I saw the Hobbit.

How do these two link?

Well since watching the Hobbit that meant I HAD to re-watch the LOTR trilogy.
In the Two Towers, King Theoden had something very profound to say, and I think it fits very well with what happened in Sandy hook and in other places as well.

Speaking of the flowers that are growing on the graves of his father and grandfather and so on, Theoden says,
“Now [they] shall cover the grave of my son: Alas that these evil days should be mine. The young perish and the old linger, that I should live t see the last days of my house.
No parent should have to bury their child.”

He was right, NO parent should have to bury their child. I know some of the grief that a parent might feel at the loss of their child. My wife had a couple of miscarriages. And I know that it rips a hole in your life and in your heart.
The problem is that ever since then, the government and several national media personalities have been going on and on ad infinitum that this means we need more gun laws, bigger gun laws, stronger gun laws…

But Guess what! ALL those measures they want to put in place would have done nothing to stop what happened at Newton Connecticut. In fact many of these gun laws would make it easier for someone to bring harm to the innocent and the vulnerable.

We can see, if we bother to do the research, that many more crimes are stopped because of the presence of guns owned by law abiding citizens. I saw a recent sarcastic post on facebook that detailed the statistics of Chicago Illinois and Houston Texas.
The point that it was making was these two cities, very similar in size, economy and everything else had very different levels of crime and violence.
The obvious difference that might have been the reason was that Chicago residents were not allowed to own guns and there were no gun stores or anything in the city so they were vulnerable, while Houston is much more open to gun ownership. But there was onr little point (this is where the sarcasm comes in) that Chicago’s temperatures tend to be much colder than Houston’s THEREFORE the only reason that there can be any disparity is the temperature causes violence.

Any thinking person can see that for the silliness that it is. But unfortunately it seems that there are too many people who really do think that way. That is, they take a disconnected measure, something that has absolutely NO bearing on the reality that exists, and they try to claim that this is what we have to measure by.

Finally, Now the AP understands

I know that it has been a while (almost half a year) since I last posted anything. I would like to say that I have been super busy, but the truth is I have been lazy. Still I am back with some new stuff to say and I will now do so.

Last night, on the radio, I heard a lady with the AP come onto the talk radio and voice her opinion of what the government is doing, vis a vis, The recent actions of taking the phone records of AP reporters.
She was absolutely LIVID and she was not afraid to state so.

One of the things she was saying was essentially, “HOW DARE THEY!”

The host of the talk show tried to ask her about Benghazi, The “attacks” by the IRS on conservatives and the subsequent cover ups in those areas.
Her attitude though was, “those do not matter, they are not as important as this ‘egregious’ attack on the rights of free speech, through these actions, by this government.”

She even said as much.

But I would respond with this.

You ask “how dare they”? I will tell you how they “dare”.

They dare to attack your right to freedom of speech because they already attacked the right for people to bear arms and you said nothing, In fact YOU CHEERED THEM ON!
They dare to attack your free speech because they already attacked the rights of people to freely assemble and again you said and did nothing.
They dare to attack your free speech because they already attacked American citizenry with drones and military force denying them the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and YOU LET THEM.

Too often you have stood by and refused to report on the actions of this administration because you liked what they were doing. You liked the idea of disarming the citizens, you liked the idea of telling people who disagreed with you that they were wrong and you liked the idea of liberals being in charge without any kind of scrutiny when they screwed up.
That is how and WHY they “dare” to commit an “atrocity” like this.

Furthermore, Because they were allowed to attack the constitution in those areas it is only a natural progression to move on attacking other rights, as I and others have warned for a long time now.
We warned you this was coming and you said, "oh that is just fear mongering, this will never happen."

You have nothing to say about it. Because, you are part of the problem.

To paraphrase an old saying:

They came for the Conservatives and I did nothing because I am not a conservative,
They came for the Christians and I did nothing because I am not a Christian,
They came for our veterans and I did nothing because I did not serve,
They came for the gun owners and I did nothing because I do not own a gun.

Now they come for me, and there is no one to help me because all those who would, have already been taken.

In other words, You, my dear lady, are now reaping that which you have sown. DEAL WITH IT!
