The Hypocrisy of the Anecdote and the EITC. Part 2

Hello, welcome back! Today I wanted to address the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post I had another issue to talk about and it is the EITC.

The story I mentioned yesterday (the Anecdote that wasn’t) the lady was talking about the importance of the funds people get from the EITC.

She pointed out, rightly, that there are people who cannot make it through without some kind of help. There are people in distress out there who get good use out of the benefits the government gives.

There are also people who abuse the system. Her point I believe was that if we are caring compassionate people we cannot simply let the people who need the programs suffer just because others might benefit from them who do not have a need for them.

And I agree. Here is the problem though. The liberals will keep pointing their fingers at things like the EITC or Access or WIC and say how good these are and how we need to keep these so all those poor kids and others don’t starve, go cold or otherwise suffer. The thing is the Liberals don’t stop at the programs that are helpful. They keep wanting to spend more and more and more and more and…
At the same time there are a lot of people out there who, whether they want to or not, take the position of;
“I am getting these funds and working is so hard, Why should I bother trying to change or improve myself while I am getting all this money for nothing.”

What we really need is a comprehensive system. A way that we can improve people’s position in life and encourage them to grow and get off of the assistance.

For example:
In he case of yesterday’s anecdote that wasn’t, the government could offer that grandmother pay for education. She already has two jobs, if she were getting an education AS A JOB then after graduation from the education she gets a better paying job. Isn’t that better? Then she becomes reliant on herself after a while instead of a capricious government.

That would be a less expensive option than many of the welfare programs that currently exist. It would also put a kind of a burden of responsibility on the individual.

Doing these kinds of things that try to offer a man or a woman a chance to make themselves better is a good way to do things.
It will raise that person’s self esteem (that is a major concern for liberals after all), it will cost less in the long run turning a taker into a giver,(which means it will actually start making more money) it will improve the capabilities of the individual and it will make our country more prosperous and viable.

It also could add a lot more Skilled help to the work force which will encourage more business to start up here which will in turn also build our national wealth.

Like the old saying goes… “you give a man a fish he eats for a day, Teach a man to fish he eats for the rest of his life.”

But until the government starts teaching the needy to fish let’s all have a little bit more compassion for others and maybe start doing the teaching ourselves, instead of griping about the people who won’t.

The Hypocrisy of the Anecdote and the EITC. part 1

So last night I was listening to the radio and as I was scanning through some stations I happened on a certain liberal show that is on every night but I usually don’t listen to.
The host had a call at the time from a woman who was talking about a friend of hers who is a grandmother.

This Grandmother is trying to make ends meet and raise her grandson while working at two minimum wage jobs. She is barely able to make ends meet and relies on the Earned Income Tax Credit in order to make up some of the difference to help her out. (“it was only because of the EITC that she was able to get a mattress, before that she was forced to sleep in a chair that was full of holes.”)

Immediately after she told her story the radio host said “that story was not anecdote. This is what half of our population is going through out there.”

MY JAW DROPPED!!!!!!!!

If that call had been made by a conservative or was against the hosts viewpoint he would have declared it anecdotal and said that it was not real or not what we ought to base anything on. I know because that is exactly the response that many conservatives have gotten on that show.

So the Hypocrisy is revealed. If it agrees with the liberal agenda then it is not anecdote but if it is against their ideals then it doesn’t count it is just anecdote.

Apparently all the liberals out there have a special dictionary.
See MY dictionary describes anecdote as…
“n. A short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person:
an account regarded as unreliable or hearsay…”
(Oxford dictionary of English; Second Edition, revised.)

I guess, based on the way they use the word, the Liberal dictionary has to say
Anecdote n. A farcical story told by Conservatives that we must ridicule and throw out as useless if it does not suit our needs, please note, any story that sounds anecdotal but supports Liberal Ideology is NOT anecdotal.

Interestingly there was another point in what was in the (NOT ANECDOTAL) story that I want to address but since I do not want that message to get lost in this “rant” I will post that issue next time (look for it tomorrow.)

Please people do not fall for the stupidity being exhibited by these people. Use your mind and see the truth.

Until tomorrow.

Obama outspent???

Recently I saw an ad from the White House stating to all those who are getting married, about to have a birthday, An Anniversary or other special gift giving occasion, that they can ask people to donate to Obama’s reelection campaign in lieu of receiving a gift.

http://www.barackobama.com/news/entry/the-obama-event-registry

I immediately wondered if there wasn’t an ulterior motive to that ad.
Other events that have occurred since then have reinforced that thought. The thought I had was this was an attempt to try to deceive people. This, to me, looked like a way that they could point at the money spent and the democrats could say the only reason Mitt Romney won (if he does win) was because he outspent Obama. That he “Bought” the election.

This is exactly the thing they said about Scott Walker.

Then a few weeks after that White House ad appeared what did I see come up in the news? Obama said that Romney raised more money than the Obama campaign… (“hey look they are outspending us.”) I thought AH HAH! I was right.

THIS MORNING as I logged in to the computer for the day what headline meets my eye?

“Obama bracing to be outspent by Romney!!”
look here

Other people tried to push that idea but the truth is that when compared side by side so far, Obama has raised more money for his campaign over all. Romney only raised more than Obama in the past couple of months. (76 million compared to 60 million they say.)

But to me the fact that Romney raised more than Obama shows me something. That is the people (who are donating to his campaign) would rather see Romney in office than Obama.

The fact that Romney is getting more means, to me, this is the guy that more people want in office. That Obama has screwed up badly enough that they want him gone.

Still let’s be honest. Even though Romney did raise more lately than Obama has OVERALL Obama is still ahead of Romney.

So far they have made this sound like Romney has outspent the president and he even MAY do so at some point. But at this point the president is still ahead on how much money he has collected for his campaign.

And that is understandable! After all The President started raising HIS money a long time ago while the republicans were still slogging it out and none of those candidates could start building a war chest for this campaign.

What kills me is that the democrats are going to do two things. They are going to deny and hide and cover up many of the donations that “aren’t REALLY donations they were just um, kinda generous gifts to the president for his own self not any thing important.”

Nudge nudge wink wink.

Second they are going to cry, moan and whine that Obama was simply outspent and it is all because republicans are “in the pocket of the big oil and big business folks.”
See apparently it is ok for them to get all kinds of money from the big money types that support them but it is NOT all right for the republicans to do the exact same thing.

I think that is what really ticks me off about the democrats and liberals the most. They get up on their high horses telling us how evil everyone else is for doing things that are “shady” by the liberals’ definition, but then they are free to do the EXACT same thing and that is “just the regular activity that goes along with the business of politics,”

It is a level of hypocrisy that stuns and sickens me. Worse, then they turn around again and have the gall to call everyone else hypocrites.

So this November please do not listen to the BS and find the truth consider all angles and vote for the BETTER choice.

The radical cure for racism.

From Jackie Robinson to the Tuskegee Airmen, from Thomas Sowell to Colin Powell, from Tiger Woods to Mean Joe Green, from Denzel Washington to Ray Charles, from every major conflict our country has fought to every sport we enjoy, we have seen them. The amazing people who are of African descent. We have all seen them as they pioneer new inventions, we have all seen them as they have risen above adversity, we have all seen them as they have set the example and we have all seen them as they have entertained us. They have at times embodied the best that man can aspire to. In the Olympics we have seen a bobsled team from Jamaica, YES Jamaica. And we have seen them beat “the master race” in 1930’s Germany. They are just as good as anyone else and they prove it all the time. Only people who are too dense to see or who are too full of poison to figure it out think otherwise. And yet there are people who harp on racism every day. Many of them in the name of fighting it. Well I say if they are harping on it they are really encouraging it! The reason people come to hate is because people are told to! So when people are going around saying look at him he is white so he is ____________ (fill in the blank.) We need to hate him, Or look at him he is black so we have to hate him because he is _____________ (Be honest now, what did you fill in the blank with? And Isn't it possible that, that is because it's what you were trained to do? How about hey look at her she is Hispanic so we must hate her because __________________________ again fill in the blank. what did your mind come up with? what words did YOU put in those blanks? If you did put anything in any of those blanks congratulations you have been exposed to radical, RACIST ideas and they have influenced you into racist behavior. If you could NOT fill in those blanks Congratulations. You are a good person and you need to be careful because this world will eat you up and spit you out. you are lucky to have survived this long. Whatever your mind came up with THAT is the teaching of our society you have to hate this person because... and that is simply the spreading of racism! I think, if only people would shut up about racism and would let the record speak for itself, then we could get past it. Think about it. If you want healing in a relationship you get the problem out in the open, you deal with it and then you let it go. If you keep harping on the same problem over and over and over and… well then it will keep being an issue. NO I am not suggesting we ignore real cases of racist behavior. We need to lance that wickedness like a boil. Drain out the festering pus of it. But lately we are so busy looking for those boils that we are rubbing the skin raw and causing a whole different problem, or maybe it is really a more extreme case of the same problem. Remember the advice you got from your mom? “if you pick it, it will never heal.”? Well the same thing here. Yes we need to stop racism. But we also need to stop CAUSING racism. In a previous post I mentioned what I thought were the causes of racism, but I realize I didn’t give any good ideas on how to combat that issue. So today I want to give you a clear understanding of what I see to be the solution. Here it is. (1) As I already said Stop going on ad infinitum about it. (2) Stop looking for it everywhere, stop calling things racist that aren't! just accept that sometimes things happen because they are part of life; ALL of our lives. (3) Let the actions of the individuals like those I already mentioned speak for themselves. There are hundreds of examples of African descendants who have distinguished themselves and set amazing examples. In acting, there are such outstanding notables as… Louis Gossett Jr. Denzel Washington Cuba Gooding Jr. Morgan Freeman Will Smith Whitney Houston … In music we have such legends as… The Shirelles Ray Charles Nat King Cole Natalie Cole Stevie Wonder Michael Jackson Whitney Houston... In sports there’s… Jackie Robinson Tiger Woods Joe Green Magic Johnson Jesse Owens Shaquille O’Neal… In Military history The Tuskegee Airmen 54th Massachusetts Colin Powell And of course, The thousands of men, and women, who have sacrificed their time and their lives in every combat zone including… The Revolutionary war The Civil war World War 1 World war 2 Korea Vietnam Desert storm/shield Operation enduring freedom… In Science… George Washington Carver Mae Jemison Patricia Bath Garrett Morgan Norbert Rillieux In politics… Martin Luther King Jr. Condolezza Rice Clarence Thomas and this list is a short one there are many more too in all those fields and more. But I think my point is made. I think many would be hard pressed to come up with examples of others that aren’t matched by the examples set here. My point there is that if we simply continue to hold up these awesome examples for people to see and follow then it would not be long before racism would simply slip away. Yes I know some of the names here have also been associated with “bad press” or other(Moments of Indiscretion) but they all rose to the top of their field/s and they all have something good to represent in our culture. Besides look at some of the “Role Models” from other races who also slid to the dark side once (or twice) like… Marilyn Monroe Elvis Presley Bill Clinton Abraham Lincoln And yet they still hold some major prestige, or are remembered fondly, in their areas of expertise. So That is my suggestion for how to overcome Racism. Maybe you think it is simplistic, Maybe you think I am to naïve, Maybe, just maybe, you think I am a racist myself. I am not sure how you come to that point considering the whole set of this piece but I have seen that level of stupidity before. But I honestly believe, As did Martin Luther King Jr., that there is a place in this world where we can all live together EQUALLY without any one “race” having better opportunities or chances than any other. THAT is true equality, and THAT is what will ultimately destroy the specter of racism.

schedules, sorries and plans

Ok Here is the place where I have to make a choice. I think I will go to more space between posts but I will try to keep up now. I have clearly been saving these posts up and had to get all that out there. Maybe I can keep up with a weekly schedule we will see. Sorry for the way I waited so long to get these out, I just felt like no one was noticing or anything. I will definitely be looking closely at the elections coming up and see some of my new posts which will address past as well as present political issues and how they work today.

Obama's Flaws?

Lately I have heard many supporters of The current president say “[we] don’t understand why you don’t like Obama’s policies, they are good!” or “hey we survived two terms of George Bush, you can survive two of Obama.” Well there is a fundamental problem here. For the first point, The current president’s policies are NOT good. They are worse than ANYTHING George Bush came out with. And I have to say I do not understand how it is that you can complain about George Bush’s policies when Your candidate has not only continued the EXACT SAME policies but has even expanded those same policies which you considered no better than boondoggles under Bush. As for the Second point, George W. Bush did not double the countries debt in his first three years in office. George W. Bush did not force the American people to buy a product HE deemed of value to everyone. George W. Bush supported the troops under his command and did not leave them swinging in the breeze. George W. Bush did not tell everyone they couldn’t eat their favorite foods while stuffing his face with the very foods he wants to ban. George W. Bush had an employment growth rate over 4% (Obama can’t get the growth rate over 1.5%.) George W. Bush did not have his people in Congress tell us we had to “pass [a] bill in order to see what was in it.” George W. Bush did not Stand in front of T.V. Cameras telling congress they “Have to pass this bill, NOW, because 3 million Americans lose their jobs and suffer everyday and so we need this bill to save them”. Only to come back the next day and tell Congress “oh yeah, that bill you just signed for me, I wanna go on vacation so I will sign that when I get back.” After they pass the bill that HE said was needed NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By his own claims/ rhetoric he was willing for some 12 MILLION Americans to suffer so he could go surfing. Those are EXACTLY the kinds of things that Obama has done time after time. Obama, when he was a senator, said that the president had to be held accountable to Congress in all things. Now that he is president, at every opportunity he gets, he circumvents Congress because it is too much of an inconvenience to deal with them. Making cabinet appointments that are supposed to be vetted and approved by Congress without their approval, passing by executive orders, everything he wants when Congress says no… And at the time that he does all this he actually TELLS the people that he “wishes he could just ignore the constitution” altogether. (Well it seems that he is trying to do just that!) Finally when the Supreme Court takes up the question of the constitutionality of his bills, Obama is “surprised” at the “unprecedented” step that the Supreme Court would be able to question the issue of constitutionality of anything either of the other branches of Government would do. Funny last I knew that was Exactly the function of the Supreme Court. The whole point behind that setup was that the people of the United States hold the President and Congress accountable. The court is accountable only to the law that makes our country great. That way the court is not influenced by current fads or passing issues. So to answer the questions of those liberals and sycophants of the president, who seem at a loss for why people are in an uproar This is why there is a problem. We are concerned that this man serving now will destroy the country because he is using unprecedented measures to achieve HIS agenda, not the will of the people not the good of the COUNTRY. No one really seems to be benefiting from his policies, we are seeing many things happening that shouldn’t and the attitude we see from him is “who cares about the country as long as I get what I want.”

Is it the hypoCRITIC oath then?

Doctors take an oath to do no harm, they call it the Hippocratic oath. It is based on the ideas of a greek guy named Hippocrates a LONG time ago, the most known part and basic command of the oath is “First do no harm.” Sounds good right? But it seems when it comes to politics we have a whole other view point, I am going to call it the hypocRITIC oath. And to sum it up I think it would say… “ blame others for the very thing you are guilty of doing while hiding (or trying to hide) that you are doing it. The problem is that the most egregious offenders are those who call themselves open minded or liberal or progressives. About 8 years ago I saw people who were devout to their party (democrat) go absolutely ballistic over the idea of George W Bush Having another term in office. I saw them Literally do everything they could to discredit him. People I knew and thought of as friends looked like they were really possessed by Satan himself. They would turn purple, not just red but actually dark purple, in the face ranting over how bad George Bush was. They crowed and strutted around when they were describing how they went to a rally in favor of the president and disrupted it. On one occasion the person in question actually was bragging that he got into an actual physical fight with others over the issue. They were proud of the division and pain they were causing, they were happy to be "civilly disobedient". They used words that I could not repeat to my mother, they used terms that were so offensive to people of sensibility that I felt like we had devolved into a barbaric culture from yesteryear. Some of those friends even broke off their life long friendship/s with me the day that I simply wore a sticker that said “Bush – Cheney ’04.” (I did not have to say anything at all). And yet those self same people are now screaming bloody murder saying that Republicans or conservatives are spreading hate speech for simply saying “I think Obama has not been a very good president.” They seem to want everyone, who thinks we need someone else in office, to be thrown in jail because clearly all of those people are (a) Racist, (b) hateful, (c) stupid and (d) anything else they can think of that is negative. And that all just HAS to be a jailable offense. Then there is the WAY they argue their point/s. When they are losing they always have to change their argument to another tack just so they can try to win. If that doesn’t work they have to belittle their opponents by claiming their ideas are “merely anecdotal” the point doesn’t count unless it is one that is made by THEIR side of the argument. Well here is an Anecdote to illustrate my point. I actually got into a discussion on a social media site, my view is that Obama care, as described is supposed to help the people of the United states get better/cheaper health care. I believed and still do believe that Obama care has failed in that regard. Whereas the opposing view was that Obama care was working out just fine thank you very much. To illustrate his point he gave me a hyperlink, the link led to a site where it said “Obamacare is working says major health insurers". I then did the unthinkable, I read the article. Then I did something equally evil, I used my brain. In the article I read, it mentioned several points that Actually worked in my favor on the argument. In fact here they are. (1) The HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES are the ones saying “hey this is a good thing” (Note NOT regular people, big business is saying it!) Well of course the Health companies think this is a good thing, they are getting lots more money (the article said the companies “posted ‘record’ profits for the quarter”). (2) The article admitted that the Insurance companies stated the reason for this was because they had “more people sign up who do not need Health insurance because they tend to be healthier.” How is that helping these people that they are paying for something they do not need? (3) And yes the article also mentioned that some of the people were getting benefits in a reduction on prescriptions but the overall percentage of good was so small that it was negligible. I pointed all this out to my “debate opponent” and instantly he had to switch the subject. He tried to redirect me to ANOTHER hyperlink, again I read it and summarized it for him. In the meantime he posted 5 more hyper links so by the time I posted my response to his second there were MANY more to deal with. Then He jumped in whining that I “did not read the article/s and was unable to keep up so OBVIOUSLY I was a small minded, hypocritical, knee jerk, reactionary (probably racist and maybe stupid or at least uneducated) conservative who was not reading his points. (After all he is a noble, brave, educated, strong and loving liberal who wants nothing more than the best for his fellow man.) In other words I was able to concisely and accurately refute his argument, so he had to rush around trying everything he could to make me the bad guy. Every time I had a point it was “anecdotal”, or it was “iffish, produced by people who have a grudge against the president.” Every time he had a point it was “clearly a real example of how life works the way [he] says” even when the point he made was based on articles that SAID they were Anecdotal and based on incomplete or unscientific surveys. Here is a message for all of you, All of our lives we have to base our decisions on evidence and experience that we have in our lives. That means that sometimes our decisions or ideas are going to be based on “anecdotal” things. Our experience/s and thoughts are what shape us into who we are. That is what leads us to the way we think about things. So maybe we should not poo poo things that are “anecdotal”. Those “anecdotes” are what hit us where we live. And often those same anecdotes are at the very least symptomatic of the problem we are facing. So if a conservative might say to you that he or she doesn’t like the idea of voting for Obama because he hasn’t solved the job problem. Don’t call them racist, don’t say they are hateful. Think about where they are! Maybe they say that because of their personal experience but that is what we all have to deal with. I will vote for the guy who is going to do what I see as the right thing. I do not vote based on race or on religion. and for the love of Pete... Stop with the hypocrisy!

July 04, 2012

Awards or fakes?

Recently a couple of issues came up… well really it was one issue that presented itself to me in two different ways. The first issue was about the men who went to Vietnam who were treated poorly and the men today who make claim to awards they did not really receive. The first cue was actually from my mom. She commented about how the numbers do not add up. 2,700,000 + men served In country in Vietnam, 1,700,000 of those men came home. Yet over 9 million people CLAIM that they received legitimate awards for combat in Vietnam. The second cue was an episode of the TV show “JAG”. In this show a character who is running for senate claims to not only have been a Navy Seal but to have won awards, in Vietnam, that he did not. The character claimed that he wanted to run on a platform of “Integrity in government and Values in the home.” But obviously there can not be any integrity or values when you are lying about who, or what, you are. Now fictional shows aside, the truth is that there are a lot of people out there who will present themselves as something other than what they were/are. They also run in all walks of life. I remember my mom once telling me, as an assistant scoutmaster in charge of advancement in the troop where I served, that I ought to make sure… that I owed it to myself AND to those kids to make sure that they really deserved the awards or promotions they were up for. She told me that I should not make it easier for them. This is something that they need to earn. The only way it means something is if it is something truly earned. So now thinking back on those guys who served in “’Nam” they worked hard, they were there and some of them went through a very real version of Hell. When they came home they were treated badly, many of them committed suicide because the stress of returning home to a country that, at best, didn’t care or worse went out of its way to belittle them, to treat them like criminals. So now, as a new generation is coming up, as we see the results of wars like Desert storm, Desert Shield, Operation Iraqi Freedom and so on. We tend to be supportive of our troops and suddenly it is O.K. even Noble to have served or to currently serve. And now that it is o.k. we also seem to see a lot of scum, yes I said it and I mean it, S-C-U-M!! who want to trample those men for personal gain. Some of them are politicians, some of them are just “regular joes” but everyone that lies about this casts shadows on the Real sacrifice those men made. So back to that show I think they said it well… A S.E.A.L. confronted that candidate, and he knocked out his lights. Later in the courtroom, while being tried for assault, the S.E.A.L. Said… “I’m a Navy SEAL. A direct descendant of the scout and raider units that invaded North Africa in 1942, A child of the underwater demolition teams that stormed the beaches of Normandy, I humbly follow those who cleared the way for landings on Pacific islands whose names are synonymous with words like courage, honor, country and death. My predecessors spilled their blood in the snow of Korea, and the rice paddies of Vietnam. No Navy S.E.AL. has ever surrendered or left behind a dead or wounded comrade. That is bravery and selflessness. That represents an ideal, as embodied by this uniform and insignia. To me this uniform is not just made of cloth. And the insignia is not just made of metal. No they represent the flesh and blood of all those who came before.” And Admiral Chegwidden said, “I killed men under the rules of war, that’s something I gotta live with every day. It’s made me appreciate the value of human life and the rules that guide it.” Again fictional plots aside, I agree with the sentiments that they expressed. I have served, and I have seen friends go to war. I have NOT gone to war and I will not claim to have done so. But that sense of pride in the uniform, the history and valor that has been performed in uniforms just like that give meaning to the uniforms worn today. And for anyone to disparage the deeds done by others just so they can look good… well that is just plain wrong. I think we all need to honor the men AND women who have served and who have earned the awards that go on their uniforms. If the awards were truly earned they mean A LOT. We ought to leave those awards for those who have paid the penalties and debts that go with having them on their chest/s. Because those penalties/ debts are great. Some of us may never know what it takes to watch your buddy who you slept next to ate with and laughed with taking a bullet next to you. Some of us might. They have kept us safe, they have served us in ways that we may never know. They have done that which many of us are not willing to do. And still we have people here today who will spurn them who will spit on them. And the others steal from them. We need to stop this practice. Oh and while you are at it, go out and find one of those who DID serve. We all know someone! And give them a hug.

Negative rights???

Obama has declared that the Constitution and it’s amendments are “negative Rights” like it is a bad thing. They are “negative rights” in that they tell the government what it CANNOT do and Obama sees this as a problem. I do not I see this as a good thing. Because you see, The founding fathers did not believe the government has ANY rights. They recognized that government derives from the people and is in place to serve those people. All Governments are supposed to be that way and that is precisely what they intended here. The government does not have the job of instructing me in how to live on a daily basis let alone hourly. But that is exactly what Obama and others like him think it ought to be doing. They see Government as the only real solution where the founding fathers, you know the guys who started this country, saw that people needed to live their own lives. In fact that is how they wrote it. Just read it and you will see! “WE the PEOPLE in order to form a more perfect union!…” it is NOT about what the government gets to do to us and that is why they wrote the constitution the way they did. Because they wanted to protect people from the abuses that government run amok tends to generate. The government’s sole purpose in existing is to establish protection and guidance for the people. Not to become a nanny state that tells people when to brush their teeth and when to sleep and how to eat. I think the evidence is very strong that this was what the founders intended. Think about it. The constitution outlining the things that government is forbidden from doing. The three branches of government which place controls on one another in order to keep each of them from simply taking over. And the admonishment to us that we must keep control of the government or else t will inevitably try to control us. When I joined the Army I swore an oath and that oath declared that I was to protect ___________________ So what is it I am to protect? The president? No. Congress? No. The Supreme Court? No. the answer is the Constitution of the United States of America. And from what (or whom) am I supposed to protect it? … from all enemies foreign AND domestic. (emphasis mine) Why the constitution? Because it is what tells us what rights we have as people of this nation. And why from all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC? Because there are people who will consistently rise up wanting to take control over me and all other peoples. They cannot stand to see anyone who has freedom or a will to do something that these dictatorial jerks don’t like. The enemy MIGHT be someone, a person like Hitler who would wish to rule over every aspect. It might be something, An organization or group that thinks it knows better what is wanted or needed. Or it might be a religion or cult that wants to impose it’s values on everyone instead of letting them have their own values. The constitution tells us that we are free to carry guns so that we might “protect our homes”. The constitution tells us that we are free to say what we want that the truth can be known and no one is denied their chance at being heard. The constitution tells us that we are free to have a press corps, free from government influence that will report fairly on all issues that we might be informed and make good choices. The constitution tells us that we are free to worship (Or even NOT worship) as we see fit that we can be at peace with our faith. The constitution tells us that we are free to come and go as we like that we can seek our happiness. Benjamin Franklin once said that anyone who is willing to give up his freedom in order to have security will have, and deserves, Neither. I am thinking that is where we are approaching today. The point where we will have no freedom because we want the government to tell us that we ought to live the way THEY decide so that we can be secure. At that point we will be neither secure nor free. We will be pawns only doing those things that the government wants of us. And if that includes our demise… well so be it. We will not be free, we will not be secure. We will have sold out to "someone" who is, by nature corrupt and venal and we will suffer for it. That is something I want to keep from happening to my children. THAT is why I am speaking out here THAT is why I am so concerned.

The real issue with Illegal Aliens.

And I do NOT mean little green men! No really the issue that really becomes a problem with regards to illegal Aliens is that they are exploiting this nation without giving anything back. We are a nation of immigrants and most of us have somewhere in our past an ancestor or two who came to this country from another nation. For example one of my great Grandfathers came from the United Kingdom, My last name shows that I have some one in my history who is from Scotland and My Grandmother could easily trace her ancestry to Feudal Germany. Immigrants (also once “Aliens” to this land) make up the genetic ancestry almost all the population of this nation. The thing is that my ancestors came to this country L-E-G-A-L-L-Y they went through the processes that allowed them to become good citizens of this nation. At least in part because of that I LOVE the United States of America. I have served in our nations armed forces, I have obeyed her laws, I have voted my conscience and I have paid my taxes. In short I have contributed to my country and faithfully served her. I am proud to fly the Flag of this nation alongside the flag of my home state as well as next to the flag of my faith. I would stand to defend all the rights and privileges which are assured to those who are citizens of this nation and I would serve to protect people from tyranny because of the values that this country has given me. I have heard many people who support illegal aliens in our nation declare that “they all have the same rights we do.” Well that is not true. The rights we share are rights we receive because this nation guarantees them to her citizenry. We, as citizens, work and serve to have this nation grow stronger. No illegal alien does this. They do not join the military here, they do not pay the taxes… they are, supposedly, ineligible to vote. Many of them despise this nation. Think I am blowing smoke? I have heard illegal aliens declare exactly that! I even heard ONE guy declare that he came here on a student visa when it expired he just stayed (admitting that he is illegal) then he said straight up “I HATE this country.” (yes he did emphasize the HATE part). He went on to admit that he was getting paid better than he could “back home” and that he had better health care and benefits here than he could have where he came from. But then he followed by saying AGAIN that he absolutely, unequivocally HATES the U.S. he wishes that we would all die and go away. Even had I not met people like this guy, I would still be able to look at their actions and see it for myself. They do not honor this country in word or deed. They do not fight for this country and when push comes to shove they are the first to either abandon this country that has nurtured them or they are the first to whine and throw a hissy fit about what THEY are losing. In fact they keep showing their contempt for this nation by refusing to honor the American flag but insisting that they ought to be allowed to fly the flag of their “real” country. I can hear it now, “but shouldn’t they be proud of their heritage?” or “you are being so racist.” Really? I can be proud of my heritage and I am! I celebrate the holidays of my heritage. I have celebrated Oktoberfest AND Guy Fawkes day (look em up!), I have gone to Scottish Festivals and attended Robert Burn’s nights, I have stood in honor and respect for the anthem “God save the Queen”. I AM proud of my heritage. But I fly the flag of my nation. The United States of America! And I honor and support this nation because she is my homeland. Illegal aliens do not do these things they want to love their countries and that is fine but if they are going to do that then they ought to go back to the places that they love so much. I do not say this from malice or hate I am simply pointing out that if there is a place that I love and honor then I would want to be in that place. They refuse to do this though. They are more like parasites like mosquitoes or ticks, which feed off of the host animal and then move on. Some of those bugs leave behind disease like Lyme or Malaria. A lot of these illegal aliens are here with an agenda. That agenda is purely criminal. It is a disease! Their agenda is to bring in drugs or to kidnap people or even to kill people. They bring hurt and pain and suffering. And the worst part of it is there are people in this country who think we ought to let them have free reign to do what they want. Kind of like a doctor who, on finding out that the patient is covered with ticks, tells the patient “No Don’t remove the ticks… in fact you need to go strip naked and lie in a field FULL of ticks and let more attach themselves to you.” If he was a good doctor the first thing he would do is get rid of the ticks you have, then he would test you for Lyme Disease; then he would advise you to keep away from that field or at least wear proper clothing and bug repellent so they stay away from you. That is what our government is failing to do right now. It is the bad doctor in the scenario presented just now. We need a good doctor. One who will do what is needed to protect our nation from the onslaught of corruption and crime that is bringing us down. In fact what we need for this doctor to do is to allow the natural defenses of this nation to work as they are intended to. Let the laws that are in place do the job they were designed for don’t hinder them through suppression and opposition. Let the people have their will done, as long as it is within the constitutional boundaries. Those are like the immune system in our bodies and it can be quite effective when it is allowed to work. But he could do more by encouraging the system to work right, kind of like an inoculation. Unfortunately we have not got that happening and that is something that I feel we sorely need right now. Well, Until next time…
