This Mosque thing is really pushing it for me now. People keep jumping up and down and throwing hissy fits about how we need to let the mosque be built… after all “freedom of religion” right?
I think it is funny how when a Christian wants to pray in the nations capital that isn’t allowed because it is supposed to be “separation of church and state” but when a Muslim wants to build a mosque it’s freedom of religion.
This Mosque issue is a classic example of my point. They have received all the permission/s or permits, and they have all the liberals eating out of their hands… (ok, ok MOST of the famous news making liberals) to build this mosque just a few blocks from ground zero of the WTC.
But there is a Greek orthodox church (read CHRISTIAN) that existed BEFORE THE ATTACKS OF 9-11, which was damaged beyond usefulness from the attacks and they cannot get the permits to rebuild. See there? It is a classic case of preferential treatment by the left. They twist the law and say they are in favor of freedom of religion, after all it is in the constitution, and yet they are doing all they can to stop another, Christian, church from building where they ought to have a perfect right to build based on already existing there.
The arguments used by these people to support why the mosque can or should be built would apply as easily to the Greek orthodox church… BUT THEY AREN’T.
IT is duplicitous.
Similarly also a recent news event, is the case of a Muslim woman who wants to wear her ceremonial headdress to work at Disney land. They say no, it isn‘t in the dress code and it doesn’t match with the uniforms (“Costumes“) of Disneyland* so she sues… “IT’S FREEDOM OF RELIGION, IT’S FREEDOM OF SPEECH.” yell the liberals, but if a Christian came in wearing a cross some of the same people who want to make Disney land accept the “religious” burden of this woman would scream about how AWFUL it is that this Christian is showing his or her faith, because “it’s separation of church and state.”
*there is actually even more to the story about the Muslim woman and her issue, apparently Disney went out of their way to try to find a solution including having the costume department design a headdress for her that would fit the uniform, placing her in an area where she could work where the uniform issue was not a problem or letting her take vacation time but she refused to accept any of their choices and insisted that she had to be allowed to do what she wanted and the employers, Disney, HAD to let her. Funny I always thought THE EMPLOYEE WORKED FOR THE COMPANY at the pleasure of the company’s bosses not vice a versa.
